The Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) reports around 30 million U.S. workers are exposed to hazardous workplace noise every year. This means almost 10% of the U.S. population (based on U.S. Census Bureau) should be using hearing protection every workday at the very least to help prevent permanent hearing loss.

It’s important for impacted workers to understand how the ear functions, how much noise is acceptable, how to determine if your workplace is too noisy and how to use proper hearing protection. Each of the following video training programs approach the topic of hearing conservation slightly different, but the bottom line is you must know when and how to use proper hearing protection.

How To Cope With Work-Related Stress

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) says “Job stress can be defined as the harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when the requirements of the job do not match the capabilities, resources, or needs of the worker. Job stress can lead to poor health and even injury.” Poorly managed stress hinders our ability to maintain a health lifestyle, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Stress happens, but if we learn to identify when our bodies are experiencing negative stress, the cause can be uncovered, if it’s not obvious. This allows us to work out a plan to reduce stress. The training video “Workplace Stress” takes you through the process from recognition to reduction.

2 Million Victims of Workplace Violence Annually

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) states “Nearly 2 million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year. Unfortunately, many more cases go unreported… workplace violence can strike anywhere, anytime, and no one is immune.” OSHA also states homicide is the leading cause of death for women in the workplace and the fourth overall cause of all deaths at work. With shocking statistics like this everyone needs to learn to distinguish between a routine conflict and possible warning signs of aggression and violence.

The Video On Demand training course, “Workplace Violence,” explains violence by type, sources of violence, warning signs and appropriate responses to aggression and violence. This short program could help you save a life, maybe your own.

Online Video Safety Training for Industrial Facilities

The following training videos cater to the needs of industrial workers by demonstrating safe work practices as they are applicable to industrial facilities. While it is true industrial facilities share some of the same hazards as other industries, it is helpful for worker to see how to prevent accidents and injuries specific to the circumstances of their workplace.

Right-To-Know for Industrial Facilities - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard provides employees with the right-to-know about any potentially hazardous chemicals in their workplace. This includes training on chemicals, labels and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to name a few.
Workplace Harassment in Industrial Facilities - Workplace harassment affects more people in a year than violence, industrial facilities are no exception. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission defines harassment as “…unwelcome conduct that is based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.” This training helps industrial workers understand how to stop harassment in an industrial environment.
Conflict Resolution in Industrial Facilities - Conflict cannot be completely avoided, why not learn how to manage it. Techniques for turning conflict into productive conversations are explained.
Industrial Fire Prevention - Learn all about fires; how they burn, prevention, protection and handling fire emergencies.
Bloodborne Pathogens in Commercial & Light Industrial Facilities and Bloodborne Pathogens in Heavy Industry - The two training videos on OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard provide in-depth information for industrial employees. Some of the topics explained are implementation of an exposure control plan, standard precautions to prevent contact with blood and equipment decontamination.

Crane Safety – Prevent Accident and Injuries

Has it been awhile since you had training on cranes and lifting devices? It might be time to refresh with Overhead: Cranes, Chains, Slings, and Hoists. As an operator you are responsible for proper use, inspection and maintenance to keep you work area safe. Be sure you’re still following all of the rules.

The 2010 OSHA Crane Safety updates added quite a bit to the 40-year-old crane safety rules. The updates resulted from increased crane related accidents and injuries. Online Safety Training for the Construction Industry

According to OSHA, nearly 6.5 million people go to work at a construction site every day. Numerous hazards can be found around a construction site. OSHA standards do not exist for the sake of being able to hand out citations, complying with OSHA’s safety and training requirements prevents injuries and saves lives.

We have released 20 new online training videos specifically produced for the construction industry. The videos demonstrate safe work practices and show how to apply safety procedures in the construction environment. Included in this set of new titles are several refresher training courses.
